How to avoid duplicated scans?

Auto-Increment Quantity

Automatically Track and Update Scanned Item Quantities

Our Auto-Increment Quantity feature offers an efficient solution by automatically updating the count when a barcode or QR code is scanned multiple times. This feature ensures accurate tracking and helps avoid duplicate entries, saving you time and effort.

Step-by-Step Guide to Enabling Auto-Increment Quantity

Step 1:

Navigate to Settings

Open the app and go to the Settings page.

Step 2:

Find the Automation Section

Scroll down until you find the AUTOMATION section.

Step 3:

Enable Auto-Increment Quantity

Toggle the switch for Auto-Increment Quantity to turn it on.

Important Note: The Auto-Increment Quantity feature will only increment values in a specific column if the data has not yet been sent. Once the data has been sent, scanning the same code again will create a new row with the duplicated data rather than adjusting the quantity in an existing entry.

Who Should Enable Auto-Increment Quantity?

This feature is ideal for anyone managing repeated scans of the same item, such as:

  • Warehouse and Inventory Managers: Perfect for those needing to track quantities of products and ensure accuracy without duplicate data entries.
  • Event Coordinators: Use this feature to count attendees or items multiple times without worrying about manual data entry.
  • Retail Staff: Easily update stock quantities by scanning items repeatedly, without creating duplicate rows in your records.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q1: How does the app detect duplicates?

The app automatically checks whether a barcode or QR code has been scanned before and updates the quantity in the existing row if found.

Q3: What happens if I scan the same barcode after sending the data?

Once the data has been sent, any repeated scans of the same code will create a new row, rather than updating the quantity of the previous entry.

Q4: Does this feature work with both barcodes and QR codes?

Yes, the Auto-Increment Quantity feature works seamlessly with both barcodes and QR codes, making it versatile for a variety of use cases.

Q5: Will this feature work for batch scanning?

Yes, this feature works whether you’re scanning individual items or using the continuous scanning mode to process batches. The quantities will be adjusted automatically based on how many times an item is scanned.
